Some of you already know; others may not have heard… but we have been in the process of adopting. We started this trek one year ago right after Anything Goes closed. After a lot of work in training classes, home studies, and mountains of paperwork, we were approved and started to search for a child in July. While there are many different forms of adoption, we have always been committed to adopting out of foster care. In the fall of last year, we identified a set of brothers living in Connecticut – Jonathan (age 9) and Jordan (age 6). In November we flew up and met the kids and interviewed with a team of social workers and support professionals. The next week we were selected as the family to adopt the kids. Since then, we have traveled to Connecticut about every two weeks to visit the boys. Fast forward to today.... We just received final approval from the NC interstate office. The boys can now move to NC. As you can imagine, we are very excited. It has been a lot of work and a rollercoaster of emotion, but we feel so fortunate and blessed to bring these two very special boys into our family. They are great kids and we can’t wait for you all to meet them. Hey... anyone doing Oliver?? We so appreciate all the caring thoughts and prayers.
