Photos on Sunday

We will be shooting photos of all cast members during Sunday's rehearsal. These shots will be displayed in the High Point Theatre lobby during SoM. All cast members should wear a solid colored shirt (no black or white) with no writing on it (not even if its an Obama shirt). It will be helpful if the Von Trapp family members can come about 15 minutes early.

Thanks,

Jennifer

Sunday Services for the Nuns

This Sunday, the 19th, Elizabeth Gulley will be hosting our Sound of Music Nuns at First Presbyterian Church at 918 North Main Street (across the street from Krispy Kreme). Our Nuns need to arrive at 10:00 am and will be singing "The Morning Hymn" and "Alleluia" for the Introit and Response. Elizabeth will have more information at rehearsal.

On Sunday, the 26th, our Nuns will be participating in Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church's 11:00 service (Michael Dougherty's church). Again, we need to arrive at 10:00 am for rehearsal.

For both services, wear what my Mother used to call "Sunday-Go-To-Meetin'" clothes - in other words, Church Clothes (whatever that means to you).

Thanks to those of you who are available for these services. It will be a great way to get the word out about our show and a special thanks to Elizabeth & Michael for allowing us to be a part of your services.

Kim, Lee & Jennifer Become Von Trapp Children for a Day

In 1993, Kim Harrison (Elsa), Lee Willard (Max) and I traveled with The Choral Society of Greensboro on a tour to Europe. One of the stops was 3 days in Salzburg, Austria - the location of the 1965 Sound of Music filming. It's hard to tell which is the bigger tourist attraction in Salzburg - The Sound of Music locations or the birthplace of Mozart. We were lucky enough to have plenty of fun with both and of course had to have our pictures made in all of the SoM locations.

Leopoldskron - The Estate That Served as the

Exterior of the Von Trapp Family Home

The "I Have Confidence" Fountain

Yes, Peggy Clapper was there also - but wasn't playing with us. I guess she was busy at the abbey.

Our Fabulous Nuns

Rehearsal
10/09/08

Our Own Sarah Palin

Our Jane Ashley Raborn (SoM's Louisa) decided to go with the "down do" in portraying one of her favorites, Sarah Palin, for a school event.

Don't worry, if I hear her droppin' her g's, talking about Joe Six-Pack, or doing any excessive winking, I will demand an intervention.

Love you, Jane Ashley!

Emma Grace Tysinger

Congratulations to our friends Eric & Teresa Tysinger on the birth of their beautiful daughter Emma Grace on Friday. Eric is currently the stage manager for Triad Stage, and is a long time friend of HPCT (he can reach the high places at my office) and a dear friend to many in the Triad theatre community.

As you can tell from the picture, Emma has already got her Daddy securely wrapped around her little finger.

Food Shortage

From Triad Health Project...
Due to the current tough economy having an impact on our client family assistance requests, we are currently experiencing a heightened need for any non-perishable food item donations for both our Greensboro and High Point client food pantries. Reclamation programs such as Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina and Greensboro Urban Ministries are strapped for what THP is able to receive from them and give to our clients (typically 2 tons each month). Healthy items that can be easily prepared can be dropped off at either THP location - 801 Summit Avenue, Greensboro, or 620 English Street, High Point - Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5pm. For more information on donating furniture items or food, or how you might be able to organize a food drive on THP's behalf, contact Shane Burton at 336-275-1654, ext. 26, or sburton@triadhealthproject.com.

From Jennifer...
Can we help?

I will transport any items brought to the HPCT office to Triad Health Project's High Point office. Feel free to bring non-perishable food items to Sound of Music rehearsals or during the day, drop them off at the HPCT office (feel free to leave them outside the door if I am not in the office) before October 29th.
