Lee & Bobby

Our trusty HPCT photographer MaryAnn Luedtke snapped this picture of Seussical's Horton, Lee Willard and director, Bobby Bodford at the LTWS performance last night. Other HPCT veterans in the production are Hollie Fisher (Annie, 2004) as JoJo, Shane Fisher (Annie, 2004) as the Mayor, and Mary Barnhardt (Anything Goes) as a Bird Girl. Maggie Gallagher serves as the Musical Director.

You have one more chance to see this production (and hear Lee Willard sing ballads - and get the girl) at 2:00 pm today. Check out the LTWS web site at http://www.littletheatreonline.com/

If you have pictures or stories about your theatre (or other) adventures this summer send them to jblevins@hpcommunitytheatre.org

Here's to a Great Year!

Benjamin is heading for L.A.
Claire is at Catawba.
Latimer is at Greensboro College.
Carissa is off to NYU.
Chris will be heading to Western Carolina.
Laura and John will be at NCSA - excuse me UNC School of the Arts (Laura for college and John for high school).
Owen will be at UNC-Wilmington.
Mary-Margaret is starting the Early College program at Guilford College.
Skyler - well who knows
Lots of others are finishing up high school.
And Halle has grown up so much I didn't recognize her - literally!

It was great to take a minute before all of the transitions to catch up and wish everybody a great year. Many of these guys have been involved with HPCT since they were little kids - some have joined us more recently. All are an integral part of the organization.

Watch the 1st video for the 2008-2009 season if you haven't heard yet.

And of course, with this crowd, before long they pulled out the theatre games.

Much love and all my best for a great year,

Jennifer

Guest Blogger - Lola Blevins

My life is so hard. I want to go to sleep - but Gracie is on the pillow, all the lights are on, the tv is blaring and my Mama is on the computer.

Even worse, my Mama types on a blog using my name. I live with a crazy woman. I'm just gonna hide for awhile.

HELP!

The Midsummer Players

The Midsummer Players had a rousing success with their production of Japanese folktales on Friday night. The kids did a great job! Thanks Martha, Briana & Victoria!

Leo

Michael insists that Leo was enjoying himself. Looks like screaming in terror to me.

HELLO!!!

I have 3 pieces of news for you, all of which are very exciting!

1) I am FINISHED with graduate school! Turned in my final 15-page Spanish paper and had my last class yesterday. WOOOOOOHHHOOOOOO! It was a long, stressful 14 months, but now I'm finished and have a Masters degree in exchange for all of my hard work. :-)

2) I have a job! I will be teaching Spanish at Reagan High School starting...well, in a couple of weeks. I feel like it should be the beginning of summer vacation since I just got out of school,.. Well, NEXT summer will be nice.

3) I'm in SEUSSICAL the musical along with Sarah, Rebecca, and my Dad!! It's the first show I have been able to do in over a year! Rebecca and I are bird girls (we help narrate the story and dance a lot), Sarah is Mayzie la Bird, and Dad is a Who. :-)

**Please note:
All performances are at Reynolds Auditorium, NOT at the Arts Council theatre.
If you do not want to get tickets ahead of time, you can buy them at the door.
On Thursday, August 7 there is a PREVIEW performance of the show that costs $10 per ticket.
HOPE TO SEE YOU AT A SHOW!!!

Mary
