Fiddler on the Roof YOUR Way
Playbuilding for Grades 2-8
Saturdays, September 22 through November 10

Students will experience all aspects of making a performance. Working in groups, students write, direct, act/sing in and procure/make their own costumes and props for a short performance that they create based on or around the classic musical, Fiddler on the Roof. The class progression is constructed to give students an experience of how to proceed step-by-step in building a play for performance.

The class work will be presented in the lobby of the High Point Theatre as a pre-show performance prior to the Saturday, November 17th production of HPCT’s Fiddler on the Roof.

All classes are sponsored by HPCT and will be held at Mallory Graham's Dance South - 1635 North Main Street.

Grades 2-5 from 10-11:30am
Grades 6-8 from 1-2:30pm
$125 per student

Registration forms are available under "Classes For Kids" on the right side of this blog.

Teen Ensemble
Tuesdays 4:30 - 6:30 and Saturdays 3:30 - 5:30
or
Saturdays Only 3:30 - 5:30

As many of you know, there has been a cry for several years about starting an ongoing teen ensemble for High Point. I hope that you have all seen the information about this year’s plans. Currently, we have a small but mighty group of pioneers who are working to get this program off the ground.

I know that several who were interested have various conflicts that prohibit you from participating this fall - so we are offering a solution to this problem.

We have opened up a Saturday afternoon only option for the ensemble. The group as a whole will meet on Tuesday and Saturday afternoons but if school plays or afterschool activities are keeping you from becoming involved, you now have a chance to participate.

The Saturday group will focus on scene work, monologues etc. and will meet beginning this Saturday, September 22nd from 3:30 – 5:30 pm at Mallory Graham’s Dance South Studio through Saturday December 15th. We will take off the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Several people have a couple of conflicts so if you would have to miss a class or two – don’t let that stop you from joining us. The cost for the Saturday only option is $170.00 – I still have a little bit of scholarship money for the teen ensemble.

Hope you can join us, Please share this info with interested friends.

To register for either the teen ensemble or the Saturday kids classes – download this form and mail it to HPCT, P.O. Box 1152, High Point, NC 27261.

Please call the HPCT office at (336) 882-2542 to reserve your spot in either the teen ensemble or the Saturday kids classes.
